We're All In This Together

Hi everyone,

Last Thursday, I was able to attend a special screening of “Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist” by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. Talk about a cute and funny film! One of the most memorable scenes happens in the subway station’s bathroom, but I won’t reveal what happens! You will just have to see it to believe it! The film will be released nationwide on October 3rd!

Speaking of “We’re All In This Together,” High School Musical 3 will be released on October 24th! Count me in!!!

Celebrate Good Times, Come On!

Hey everyone,

Happy Wednesday!!! As you may all know, today is a big day for me as it is the first-year anniversary of my first book! I can't believe that it has been a good year-and-a-half since the conception of my story. It has been a wonderful journey so far.

I still would like to see my book grow to the fullest potential that it can reach. I have enjoyed meeting wonderful people on myspace and facebook...you guys rock!!!

Thank you to everyone for your support!!!

Speaking of celebrations, anybody watch the closing ceremony of the Summer Olympics the other night? I did and it was awesome...I hope to make it to the London Games in 2012! My fingers are crossed for the future!!!

Only 8 more days!!!

Hi all,

I am so excited that my first book's 1-yr. anniversary will be celebrated in only 8 days. I have to say that I have met the MOST awesome and coolest people on MySpace and Facebook!

In other news, "The Hills" Season 4 began last night. Overall, it was a good episode. Towards the end, they had the whole showdown between Lo and Audrina. I think that Lo was being nice saying "I don't want people to think that you and Lauren are drifting apart because of me." I found it shocking that Audrina responded, "I don't care. We will never be friends." Drama!!!

However, I can understand that two people will not get along no matter what. So, I kind off understand what Audrina is meaning, but dang she was pretty straightforward!

What do you all think? Are you on "Team Audrina" or "Team Lo?"

Sorry I haven't blogged in about a month. I've been so busy!!! Anyways, I hope everyone is doing well and having a great summer. My book's one-year anniversary is August 27th!! And there is a good possibility that I will post a (surprise) one-year anniversary review soon... I am currently working on a profile on the actor Devon Sawa, so stay tuned in for that as well. More later, about the one-year anniversary review....

The Hills

All right, I am going to admit something that I am no longer ashamed to admit. I am obsessed with "The Hills!"

The show is oftentimes filled with air-headed characters (not going to name names) but something about the show just sucks you in and you find yourself wasting thirty minutes sitting in front of the TV. Or maybe it might be the fact that I am the same age as them and I can relate to some of their situations (relationship and work problems). Speaking of work, I would be intimidated by having a boss like Kelly Cutrone! Although, it is great to see such a hard-working and powerful woman in Hollywood.

I liked how they ended it on a cliff-hanger like did Lauren accept the job at People's Revolution and what does she tell Teen Vogue? Once again, I've been sucked into the abyss that is "The Hills."

In Loving Memory of Heath Ledger

January 22, 2008 marked a sad and shocking day for all of us. Heath Ledger was found dead after an overdose of sleeping pills (according to authorities). I first fell in love with Heath's acting in "10 Things I hate about you" (1999). He also blew me away in "A Knight's Tale" (2001). It is obvious what a great talent Heath was. Last night, I was reading "Royally Jacked" by Niki Burnham and became emotional because Heath is mentioned several times in the novel.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Ledger family. We have truly lost one of the greatest actors of our time.

Teen Scene Magazine

Hi everyone!

I am excited to announce that I have recently become a staff writer for Teen Scene Magazine. Guess what is my first assignment? An interview with Sean Kingston. I first fell in love with his music after the release of "Beautiful Girls." I am so ecstatic about this wonderful opportunity! So, stay tuned for the interview!

Have a great weekend, Vanessa.

Fashion Disaster?

I just want to know, who here still wears Uggs? I personally do not see the big deal about them. But maybe because we're in the south, they are not a hugely popular fashion statement. So, do you have a pair of Uggs and if so, do you like them?

Wildest Dreams

Hi Everyone!

In my wildest dreams, I would want my novel to be turned into a movie. I hope to one day see it up on the big screen. Who would I want as my feature actresses? Here is a list of a few: Kelly Mullis, Brenda Song, Miley Cyrus, and Vanessa Hudgens. If you have any other cool ones to list, then please do!

Have a great day,
Vanessa

All About Me

Hi Everyone!

Happy New Year to all. What a great year 2007 was! I hope that 2008 will be even greater!

I am the author of my debut book, "The Beauty Queen and the School Nerd." The synopsis is that it is about two high school seniors, Jessica Richardson and Amanda Shaw. The two girls attend the ultra-exclusive Porter Academy in Atlanta. Jessica is a beauty queen with a glamorous life and tons of money, clothes, and make-up. Amanda comes from a lower class home and is the "school nerd" at Porter.

It has received awesome reviews from readers such as Audra Pagano and By the Books Review by Meagan Anderson. Read Audra's review on www.myspace.com/vanessaroselee. It's under the blog posting titled "What makes for the perfect X-Mas gift?"

Check out Meagan's review too!
