Top 5 Favorite Things

These are a few of my favorite things...

5) Eco-friendly items. I believe in the saying "Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle." I also believe in the motto “We only have one planet, so treat it well.”

4) Helping out “the little guy.” For some reason, I do enjoy eating at little known restaurants and shopping at small boutiques. I like to help out the little guy.

3) Reality Shows. The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Rachel Zoe, and The Hills are my guilty pleasures.

2) Singing in the shower and/or in the car. Why not? It’s fun!

1) Being creative. I like to inspire and entertain others with stories that I write. Writing also allows me to express myself and (at times) relieve stress.

Flattered!!!

The other day, I got an e-mail that someone had recommended my book on Yahoo!

Someone asked: What books for a high school teenage girl? To which, a contributor by the name of Melanie, responded with a list of books and mine was on it! It was emotional for me to read this. I'm completely flattered.

It reminds me of a quote from "The Jacksons: An American Dream" movie. Michael Jackson said, "Without fans-I am nothing." So, thanks guys!

Read the list here!

XOXO,

Vanessa

The Decade's Worst Movies

Perhaps someone read my blog & got inspired. Anyways, I found this article on Yahoo! on the decade's top 100 worst movies. The list includes "Battlefield Earth" and "All About Steve."

Surprisingly, "Rise: Blood Hunter" (2007) starring Lucy Liu didn't make the list. Lucy-you know I love ya, girl-but that movie was just bad!

Here's the bottom ten from RottenTomatoes's "Worst of the Worst":

Worst movie ever?

Hey guys,

The other day I decided to look up on YouTube the movie, "Tammy and the T-Rex" (1994). And it was there! It stars Denise Richards and Paul Walker in one of their first roles before becoming famous! Who knew?

Has anyone else seen this film? I thought it was actually halfway decent, it was funny because of their friend Byron (Theo Forsett). However, the plot line was rather...odd. Overall, I thought it was an all right film, and I got a few good chuckles in certain scenes. I don't think it was the worst film I've ever seen. No, that accolade goes to "Princess Caraboo" (1994).

So, tell me: What has been the worst movie you've seen?

Ukraine's Got Talent Star

This is an amazing and emotional video!

Kseniya Simonova uses sand to tell the story of one of the aerial bombings of Kiev during World War II. Who knew that you could do this with sand? She is one talented woman, watch the Sand Animation! Thoughts?

Movies That Get Me Everytime

Flipping through stations or find a movie on TV Guide that gets you every time?

Here are a few movies that I always tune in for either a few scenes or even its entirety when they come on TV.

  • Legally Blonde (2001)
  • The Hot Chick (2002)
  • White Chicks (2004)
  • Coming to America (1988)
These movies definitely get me every time! What are some movies that manage to catch you and reel you in every time?

Votes are in for Nicole!

You guys voted and the winner is: Anna Maria Perez de Tagle to play as Nicole Edwards!

She would make a great Nicole indeed. Anyone going to go see "Fame" this weekend, which btw Anna is in it?

XOXO,

Vanessa

How does a secretary become a king?

This story is so amazing! Like only something that can happen in the movies. Kinda like Meg Cabot's The Princess Diaries.

Except that this is true life where an ordinary secretary finds out that she (yes, a female) is named a king for the African country, Ghana.

Read more about Peggielene Bartels story! Thoughts?

Kanye versus Taylor Debacle!

Hey guys,

So, I actually missed the VMAs, but watched the video on YouTube about the whole Kanye- grabbing-the-mic-out-of-Taylor's-hand debacle. I actually felt really bad for Taylor. If I was in her place, I would have struggled to not let my emotions show. What the heck is wrong with Kanye? You don't do things like that. Hello! "Do unto others as they would do unto you."

Kanye-please get some manners. You are WAY too old to be acting that way. Nobody should act that way PERIOD.

80s One Hit Wonders

I'm reading an article on Yahoo! about 80s One Hit Wonders. Don't recognize any of them! And they left off "Two of Hearts" by Stacey Q.

Patrick Swayze

I am mourning the loss of Patrick Swayze. Loved his movies especially "Ghost" and "Dirty Dancing." RIP.

Ellen DeGeneres as Idol Host

In case you've been living under a rock, on Wednesday Ellen DeGeneres was named as the replacement for Paula Abdul. Personally, I will always miss Paula, but Ellen is constantly humorous. Good luck, Ellen! I'm sure you'll do fine and have fun as always!

Waz Up?

Hey guys!

It's been a crazy and busy year so far in my life! Working on upcoming projects and of course, writing, writing, and more writing!

So, I can recommend 2 movies that I absolutely love that came out last month: "He's Just Not That Into You" and "Confessions of a Shopaholic!" Love em'! Go see them if you can!

In other news, I'm excited about the new season of "The Hills" premiering next Mon. Mar. 23rd! Rumor has it that this is the last season because Conrad wants to remain "sane," which is totally understandable. Anyways, let me know what's up with you all!

ttyl!
